Project Description:
The Temple of Neuro and Biocracy envisions a sanctuary for emergent forms of governance: Neurocracy and Biocracy. Drawing on theoretical frameworks of posthumanism and technocratic governance, Neurocracy is grounded in the pursuit of absolute knowledge, where decision-making relies on data-driven insights and the application of cognitive enhancement technologies—paralleling concepts found in contemporary discussions of algorithmic governmentality. Biocracy, conversely, reflects scholarship on biopolitics by focusing on the pursuit of speed and superhuman capacity through the integration of biological developments, aiming to achieve enhanced efficiency and capability. Together, these frameworks engage with disciplinary debates on the future of governance by imagining a posthuman paradigm that transcends traditional political boundaries. The temple thus becomes a locus for the rituals of this speculative order, demonstrating how architecture can embody and advance theoretical concepts of innovative governance.
